About Joe Ferrao, PA-C

Founder | Board-Certified Physician Assistant | Interventional Pain Management & Peptide Therapy

Joe Ferrao, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant and the founder of TCB Therapeutics, where he combines over a decade of clinical experience with a deep passion for helping patients feel better, move better, and age better.

A native of Rhode Island and a first-generation Portuguese-American, Joe’s professional journey has been anything but ordinary. He began his career as a biomedical engineer, repairing medical and surgical equipment throughout New England. His technical expertise eventually led him into leadership as a Director of Biomedical Engineering, where he was involved in the assembly, installation, and setup of hospitals and medical centers throughout New England, New York, and abroad through volunteer work with the American Medical Resources Foundation.

Shortly after marrying his wife, Donna, Joe relocated to South Florida and began a successful career in commercial real estate, specializing in investment properties, land acquisition, and medical property development. However, during the economic downturn, Joe made the decision to return to school and pursue a career that aligned more deeply with his purpose: medicine.

He completed his undergraduate studies in Medical Health Sciences at Hodges University, graduating cum laude, and went on to earn his Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Nova Southeastern University, graduating at the top of his class. His clinical training included general surgery, orthopedic and reconstructive surgery, emergency medicine, internal medicine, and wound care.

For the past 12 years, Joe has specialized in Interventional Pain Management, focusing on spine and joint pain, musculoskeletal dysfunction, injury recovery, and chronic pain conditions. This experience gave him a front-row seat to the limitations of traditional approaches and inspired his interest in more personalized, restorative strategies that support the body’s natural healing potential.

At TCB Therapeutics, Joe brings together his background in engineering, medicine, pain management, and human performance to create thoughtful, individualized peptide therapy programs. His approach is rooted in clinical reasoning, careful patient evaluation, and the belief that optimal health requires more than simply treating symptoms. Whether the goal is improved recovery, metabolic support, longevity, sleep optimization, or enhanced quality of life, Joe is committed to helping patients pursue meaningful, sustainable results.

Joe has been married to his wife, Donna, for 25 years, and together they have a 22-year-old daughter, Mia. His devotion to family has shaped the way he practices medicine — with patience, honesty, compassion, and a deep respect for each person’s individual story.

Outside of medicine, Joe enjoys spending time with family and friends, being on the water, and pursuing his lifelong passion for saltwater fishing.
